Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, recovering from surgery, or want to stay active as you age, we work with you to create a personalized plan. We’ll assess how you move, identify what’s causing your pain or limitations, and teach you techniques to feel better and prevent future problems. Our goal is to help you maintain your independence and quality of life.

Absolutely! This is your healthcare journey, and you have every right to choose where you receive care. If you’ve heard great things about our clinic or prefer a specific therapist, please let your doctor or insurance company know. We believe the relationship between you and your therapist is crucial to your success, so we want you to feel comfortable with your choice.

Direct access is one of the best things about Florida’s healthcare laws! It allows you to come directly to us for evaluation and treatment for up to 30 days without a physician’s prescription. If you need continued care after 30 days, we’ll help coordinate with your doctor to ensure seamless treatment. Most insurance plans cover direct access visits, though we always recommend checking with your insurance provider first to understand your specific benefits.

Your first visit is all about getting to know you and your goals! We’ll spend 45-60 minutes together, starting with a conversation about your concerns, lifestyle, and what activities matter most to you. Then we’ll conduct a thorough evaluation, checking your posture, movement patterns, strength, and flexibility.

This isn’t just about identifying problems – we’re looking for your unique strengths too. By the end of your first visit, you’ll understand what’s causing your issues and have a clear picture of how we can help you reach your goals.

Manual therapy is our “hands-on” approach to treatment. Using specialized techniques with our hands, we can improve how your joints move, reduce muscle tension, and decrease pain. This might include gentle mobilization of stiff joints, soft tissue massage, or specific stretching techniques.

Many of our patients find manual therapy deeply relaxing and effective. We often combine it with exercises and other treatments to give you the best possible results.

Therapeutic ultrasound uses gentle sound waves to create deep, soothing heat in your tissues. It’s particularly effective for reducing muscle spasms and preparing tight areas for stretching. The treatment feels warm and relaxing, and it helps increase blood flow to promote healing. It’s completely safe and many patients find it very comfortable.

TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) is a gentle, drug-free way to manage pain. Small electrodes deliver mild electrical impulses that can reduce pain signals to your brain. Many patients experience pain relief during treatment and for hours afterward. Some patients even use portable TENS units at home as part of their pain management strategy.

Ice therapy is excellent for managing both new injuries and flare-ups of chronic conditions. Cold helps reduce swelling, inflammation, and muscle spasms while providing natural pain relief. We often recommend ice after treatment sessions or during painful episodes to help manage your symptoms between visits.

Every person is unique, so your treatment frequency depends on your specific condition, goals, and how quickly your body responds. Most of our patients come 2-3 times per week initially, with sessions lasting 45-60 minutes.

As you improve, we typically reduce the frequency of visits. Some patients with chronic conditions may benefit from once-weekly visits for ongoing management, while others recovering from surgery might need more frequent visits initially. We’ll work together to find the schedule that fits your life and maximizes your progress.

At our private practice, you’re not just a number – you’re part of our family! Unlike larger corporate clinics, we limit the number of patients we see at one time, ensuring you get the personalized, one-on-one attention you deserve. You’ll work consistently with the same therapist who gets to know you, your goals, and your preferences.

This continuity of care often leads to faster progress and better outcomes. We also have the flexibility to spend extra time with you when needed and adjust our treatment approach based on your individual response.

Healing sometimes involves temporary discomfort, but we never want you to suffer unnecessarily. While some techniques (like regaining motion after surgery) may cause brief discomfort, we’ll always work within your tolerance levels.

Communication is crucial – we want you to tell us how you’re feeling throughout treatment so we can adjust our approach. Our goal is to reduce your overall pain, and most patients find that any temporary treatment discomfort is far outweighed by the long-term relief they experience.

All physical therapists practicing today have extensive education and training! Anyone starting physical therapy education now must earn a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree, which typically involves 6-7 years of college education including undergraduate prerequisites.

We must pass rigorous national and state licensing examinations and complete ongoing education to maintain our licenses. Many of us also pursue specialized certifications in areas like orthopedics, geriatrics, or manual therapy. You can trust that your physical therapist has the knowledge and skills to help you safely and effectively.

Recovery timelines vary based on your condition, overall health, and goals. Some patients see significant improvement in a few weeks, while others with more complex conditions may benefit from longer treatment periods. We’ll give you realistic expectations during your evaluation and keep you updated on your progress throughout treatment.

You’ll find us in many convenient locations! We work in hospitals, private clinics like ours, outpatient centers, and even provide home visits when needed. We also work in wellness centers, sports facilities, and workplace settings. Our private practice allows us to focus on giving you the personalized attention you deserve.

Great news! In Florida, you can see us directly without waiting for a doctor’s referral. This is called “direct access,” and it means you can start feeling better sooner. We can evaluate you and begin treatment right away, which is especially helpful when you’re in pain or want to address issues before they get worse.

We’ve made this process as simple as possible for you. Before your first visit, you’ll complete forms about your health history, current medications, and previous treatments. We also need basic consent forms and HIPAA privacy notices – standard healthcare paperwork that protects your information.

To save time on your first visit, you can obtain the forms from a member of our clinic and soon, our website before your visit. If you prefer do complete the forms in person, just arrive 30 minutes early and we’ll help you with everything. Don’t forget to bring your driver’s license and insurance card – we’ll make copies for our records.

Your Plan of Care is your personalized roadmap to better health! After your evaluation, we’ll create a written plan that outlines your specific diagnosis, treatment goals, and the types of treatments we’ll use. This plan includes how often you’ll visit us and what we expect to achieve together.

We’ll review this plan with you and adjust it as you progress. You’re always part of the decision-making process because your input and goals drive everything we do.

Modalities are additional tools we use to enhance your treatment. These include therapeutic techniques like electrical stimulation, ultrasound, heat, ice, and traction. We use these to reduce pain, decrease inflammation, improve circulation, and prepare your tissues for exercise and manual therapy.

Think of them as helpful additions to your treatment plan – they support the main work we’re doing together to help you heal and feel better.

Don’t worry – this isn’t scary! Electrical stimulation uses gentle electrical currents delivered through small pads placed on your skin. It can help reduce pain, decrease swelling, and even help weak muscles work better. Most patients describe the sensation as a mild tingling or gentle muscle contraction. We’ll always adjust the intensity to your comfort level.

Moist heat penetrates deeper than dry heat and feels wonderfully soothing on sore muscles and stiff joints. We use it to increase blood flow, reduce muscle tension, and prepare your body for stretching or exercise. It’s especially helpful before treatment sessions and can provide significant comfort for chronic pain conditions.

Your Home Exercise Program is your secret weapon for continued progress! These are specific exercises, stretches, and techniques we’ll teach you to do at home. Think of it as your daily investment in feeling better – just like taking medication as prescribed, consistency with your home program is key to achieving your goals.

We’ll make sure you’re completely comfortable with each exercise and provide clear instructions. As you improve, we’ll update your program to keep challenging you appropriately.

Comfort is key! Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. For leg or back problems, shorts or loose sweatpants work well. For neck, shoulder, or arm issues, a comfortable t-shirt is perfect.

If you’re coming from work, don’t worry – we have a private changing area where you can switch into more comfortable clothes if needed.

In Florida, physical therapists cannot order diagnostic tests like X-rays or MRIs – that’s reserved for physicians and physician extenders. However, we work closely with your healthcare team and can recommend when additional testing might be helpful. If we identify concerns during your evaluation that warrant further investigation, we’ll communicate with your doctor to ensure you get the appropriate care.

Both physical therapists and chiropractors help with movement and pain, but our approaches complement each other beautifully. Chiropractors often focus on spinal adjustments using quick, targeted movements to restore joint mobility.

We physical therapists tend to use gentler mobilization techniques combined with comprehensive exercise programs to address the whole movement system – muscles, joints, and how they work together. Many of our patients benefit from both types of care, and we’re happy to coordinate with your chiropractor when appropriate.

Most insurance plans cover physical therapy, including Medicare. We’re experienced in working with various insurance providers and will verify your benefits before your first visit. We’ll also help you understand any copays or deductibles that may apply. Our goal is to make quality care accessible and affordable for you.

Absolutely! We encourage family involvement in your care when appropriate. Having a supportive family member learn your exercises or understand your condition can be incredibly helpful for your recovery. Just let us know your preferences, and we’ll accommodate them whenever possible.
